More than 20% of children's plastic imitation porcelain tableware is unqualified
Durable plastic imitation porcelain bowls and chopsticks, loved by children. However, are these plastic bowls and chopsticks that come into direct contact with food really reliable? Recently, the Municipal Quality Supervision Bureau released the quality inspection results of children's melamine tableware. Out of 47 batches of products, 10 batches were found to be unqualified, with over 20% of plastic imitation porcelain tableware being unqualified. If dark colored foods such as soy sauce and vinegar are placed in them, it is easy to wash them unclean and breed bacteria.
Plastic porcelain tableware, also known as melamine plastic tableware. In this inspection, experts simulated a humid and hot environment on site to test whether melamine tableware would show obvious cracks or whitening. Three batches were ultimately found to be unqualified. Qian Shasha, an engineer from the Municipal Quality Supervision and Inspection Institute, stated that under normal circumstances, qualified pure melamine products can withstand high temperatures of 0-120 ℃. To check if your melamine bowl is qualified, you can boil the tableware in boiling water for 30 minutes. If there is whitening, bubbles, or an irritating smell, it is considered unqualified.
How should consumers choose when purchasing melamine tableware? Among the products sampled this time, 8 batches of unqualified products came from e-commerce platforms. Therefore, experts suggest that consumers should go to large shopping malls and supermarkets when making purchases. In terms of price, products priced above 15 yuan have a qualification rate of 100 percent, while products priced below 5 yuan have a qualification rate of only 55%. It is not recommended to purchase.
It should be noted that melamine tableware usually indicates the main ingredients and temperature range of use of the product. Some also clearly indicate the shelf life of the product and the words "prohibit heating in the microwave". Therefore, when choosing, pay attention to these signs and try not to choose tableware that is too dark, too bright, or with stickers.
